Dr. Jodi A. Fischer:

Born and raised in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, Dr. Fischer attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls for her undergraduate training and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003.  She has practiced in North Dakota, Illinois, and Wisconsin.  Dr. Fischer purchased this wonderful practice from Dr. Bruning in the fall of 2015 and is extremely happy to continue the culture of high quality medicine and compassionate care provided by County Center Animal Hospital since 1975.

Dr. Fischer enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine with a special interest in acupuncture.  She received advanced acupuncture training from the prestigious Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Reddick, Florida.

She is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Jodi and her husband Waylon have a son, Mason, and a daughter, Kenley.  Waylon is a large animal veterinarian.  They have two dogs, Clyde and Vernon, and two cats, Mattie and Fergus.


Dr. Thomas R. Bruning:

Born in Minnesota and raised in Beulah, Michigan, Dr. Bruning earned his BS and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with honors from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974.  After a short stint in a Michigan practice, Dr. Bruning founded County Center Animal Hospital in Marathon in 1975.

He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association where he served as President in 1991, the Northern Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.  He holds licenses to practice veterinary medicine  in Michigan, Maryland and Vermont as well as Wisconsin.

His special interests in veterinary medicine are laser assisted surgery, laser therapy, dermatology and animal behavior.

Dr. Tom and his wife Barbara have two grown children, Gunnar and Hans and four grandchildren.  When not practicing, he enjoys working on and sailing his sailboat "ShooFly" out of Marinette on Green Bay.
